  •  Outlook2CRM Version 1.2.2 Released!


    An exciting new version of Outlook2CRM has been released! Version 1.2.2 has several new features and fixes. This release, of course, includes all fixes and enhancements from all previous preleased to date as well.

    New Features & Enhancements

    • Added support for Exchange public folders! Users can now select e-mail items in Exchange public folders to use with Outlook2CRM actions.
    • Added support for "Addin_IncludeAttachedFiles" property for buttons. Addin buttons can optionally support this property to trigger the save attachments dialog for any action
    • Added diagnostics tool for troubleshooting workstation/client issues
    • Added new debug mode for logging of all integration actions and data access
    • Added support for saving attachments to matched contact from Activity & History action buttons

    Fixed Issues

    • Fixed attachment description field for saved attachments to avoid errors for long attachment file names
    • Fixed issue where some addin button images would not appear after loading unless the Outlook2CRM toolbar was refreshed
    • Fix issue where the sender is used, instead of the matched contact on the Insert New Ticket screen in cases where a different contact is selected instead of using the matched one
    • Fixed installation issue for Terminal Service or Citrix multi-user environment where the addin is not registered for all users
    • Miscellaneous fixes for "Ticket" screen (Default ticket for existing ticket option to current ticket if matches the e-mail's contact and disable controls unless option selected
    • Miscellaneous fixes for "Contact" screen (disabling controls unless option selected and some code optimization)
    • Fixes with Outlook integration for toolbar to better remeber location in Outlook between sessions
    • Several core library updates & fixes (moved from release 2 to release 8)
    • Migrated code-base to Visual Studio 2008 (still targeting .NET Framework 2.0)

  •  Support for Exchange Public Folders Coming in Outlook2CRM v1.2


    I just wanted to pass along that full support for Exchange Public Folders in coming in the next build of Outlook2CRM v1.2. This has been a requested feature - especially for those with support departments where the support reps all work from public folders to deal with incomming support request e-mails. More details to come soon about the release schedule and other features and fixes in version 1.2.

    Let's take a look at some of the major points to this new release: 


    Fix for Outlook 2007 Users

    In this new release there are many anticipated fixes. Outlook 2007 users who were previously experiencing occasional lockups when using Outlook2CRM will appreciate this new version which fixes this issue. On top of the fix for the occasional lockup issue, there are many performance enhancements which you'll notice gives you a much smoother experience when using Outlook2CRM!


    Native Support for SalesLogix Contact Processes

    This new version of Outlook2CRM brings support for attaching processes to matched contacts from your Outlook e-mail!

    In addition to linking your Outlook2CRM buttons to Forms and Script plugins in SalesLogix, you can now also link them to Contact Processes. Outlook2CRM will still match the selected e-mail to a SalesLogix contact and can now also attach a process to the contact!


    Matching on Recipient Address for Sent Items

    With this new version of Outlook2CRM, when the selected e-mail is in your Sent Items folder, the Recipient will be used to matching to a SalesLogix contact, instead of the Sender (because that is you Wink). 

    Because the Sender and Recipient for Sent Items are swapped, this allows you to use Outlook2CRM with e-mail you've sent and correctly match with a contact. This new feature comes from the request of Outlook2CRM users and we're happy to oblige! Outlook2CRM buttons will have a new property that allows you to also turn this new feature off for a specific button if needed.

    Access to the Outlook2CRM Support Forums has changed. These forums were previously viewable to the public. To post to the forums, a login was required. The forums are now only visible to logged in members.

    You should have received a login if you purchased Outlook2CRM. Business Partners should also have received a login as well for access to the forums.

    Outlook2CRM has been qualified with the SalesLogix 7.2 LAN client, based on the current beta release. Outlook2CRM will continue to work, without the need for upgrade, as you move to the upcoming new 7.2 release of SalesLogix!

    Outlook2CRM also supports Windows Vista (as does SalesLogix 7.2) and Office 2007 as well.

  •  New Outlook2CRM Extra Added - Attach to Contact Process


    A new Outlook2CRM Extra was added which provides the ability to attach a contact process to the matched contact in SalesLogix for the selected e-mail in Outlook.

    The bundle includes a new custom button that will appear on the Outlook2CRM toolbar and a new Contact Process. The included contact process is intended to be a sample only that you can customize as needed for any specific scenario you might have.
